So, I am pretty excited to see the Cubs play the Red Sox in May. Should be lots of fun at Fenway.
As of today the Cubs and the Red Sox are both 11-14. Fairly disappointing starts for both teams.
More so for the Red Sox. The Cubs always lose. Both teams are also 4 games out of first place in their divisions. Definitely not insurmountable. Maybe both teams need some goats.

3 game losing streak
I may have been a bit premature in my last post that the Cubs were ready to make their move to the top of the NL Central. They currently have a 3 game losing streak going. I think it may be fortunate that tonight's game against Colorado is postponed. Maybe the Cubs need a rest. More likely they need a few goats!

Cubs are winning.
Cubs are up 3 zip at home vs. Colorado at the end of the 1st. Go Cubs! I just know the Cubs are about to make their move to the top of the NL Central.

8-8
Cubs win!!! A good performance by Big Z last night. Cubs beat the Padres 1-0. Cubs are now 8-8 and only one game back of Cincinnati. Of course they are tied with Pittsburgh, Milwaukee, and St. Louis.
I think this is anybody's division to win this year. Hopefully the Cubs will find a way. Of course, I know what the Cubs really need. Goats in Wrigley!!

Cubs Lose.
So, the Cubs blew it in the eighth inning and lost 6-5 to Milwaukee. Bummer!! A 4-5 start to the season is fairly typical of the Cubs. 153 games to go in the regular season. There is still plenty of time for the Cubbies to win the division. Maybe a wildcard? Let's hope so.

ivy at Wrigley
The ivy on the outfield walls at Wrigley was originally planted by Bill Veeck during the 1937 season. I for one am happy he did that. The ivy is part of what makes Wrigley special. Cubs play the Brew crew in Milwaukee this evening. Go Cubs. Is everyone getting their goats ready for the big day?

First game at Wrigley
The Cubs first game at Wrigley Field took place April 20th, 1916. They beat the Cincinnati Reds 7-6
in 11 innings. After blowing a lead the Cubs are now tied with Arizona at 4 a piece. I have to say I am
fairly pleased with the Cubs 2-2 start to the season. They are doing better at this point than the Red Sox
who have been picked to win 100 games this season. I know it is early and I wish the Red Sox all the best.
I would love a Red Sox vs. Cubs World Series. A rematch of the 1918 Series with the Cubs winning this time in 7 games.

Cubs win!!
Yeah, Cubs win 5-3 on Saturday! So I'm thinking of doing a little research on Murphy. He is the goat that William Sianis attempted to take into Wrigley Field in 1945. He probably has an interesting story. We'll see if I get around to doing the research.

Opening Day!
So, the Cubs are losing 6-2 to the Pirates in the 7th. Go Goats!! I mean, Cubs!!
No Cubs pitcher has ever given up a grand slam in a World Series game. Before you say "yes but the Cubs are never in the World Series" they have actually been in 10 World Series. Amazing I know. They won it in 1907 and 1908. They lost in 1906, 1910, 1918, 1929, 1932, 1935, 1938, and of course 1945.
66 years is a fair amount of time to not get back to the Series. Who's ready to take a goat to Wrigley?
