Operation Goat Hair Drop

Yesterday my family and I did a tour of beautiful Wrigley Field.  I brought a little goat hair from our lucky goat Lillie.  She was only one pound when she was born.  She is a happy, healthy adult now.  Anyway, I deposited a few of her hairs throughout Wrigley.  I figure it is the next best thing to actually taking a goat into the ballpark.  It can't hurt.  In other news at the friendly confines Theo Epstein arrived while we were at the park.  Unfortunately I missed seeing him while taking a walk around Wrigley.  My Mom did get a picture of the back of his head though.  There were camera men from the major Chicago news networks waiting to catch a glimpse of Theo.  WGN even interviewed us.  We didn't get on TV, but we made a brief appearance on their website.  It was a great tour even though we could only walk on the warning track and not the actual grass.  I only wish I could have talked to Theo to welcome him to Chicago and urge him to push for Take Your Goat Wrigley Day.  I think it would make a great charity event and help reverse the curse.

Take your goat to Wrigley

I've got nothing new to say about the Cubs.  But, I still urge everyone out there to take their goat to Wrigley to reverse the curse.  That is all the Cubs need to win the World Series.  Oh, and I guess Theo Epstein has signed a five year contract with the Cubs.  That actually is something new and very big news.
I hope he can do for the Cubs what he helped do for the Red Sox.

Zip Zabel

Zip Zabel.  What a great name.  On June 17, 1915 Zip pitched 18 1/3 innings in relief for the Cubs which is a major league record for the most relief innings pitched in a game.  The Cubbies won the game in 19 innings over Brooklyn.

I am still rooting for the Brewers now that the Cubs are done.  I hope Milwaukee can take St. Louis down in 5 games or less.

Long off season.

Even though the season is over for the Cubs I will try to put up an occasional post.  Rod Beck is the only Cubs right handed pitcher to post 50 or more saves in a single season with 51 in 1998.
Happy to see the Yankees lose to Detroit.  Hopefully the Tigers can finish them off tonight.  I am now rooting for the Brewers to win the World Series.  They almost never win and they are in the Cubs division.
It would be fun to see a St. Louis vs. Milwaukee NLCS.  As for the American League, I don't care who makes it to the Series as long as it isn't the Yankees.

Good news on Cubs front!

The Cubs did not lose today.  In other baseball news, the Yankees beating at the hands of Detroit resumes tonight.
